I am not fond of flying. Even worse when the bloke next to you thinks he bought half your seat when he got his ticket! I’m here though, 8.30pm malagasy time. I didn’t get much sleep on the way over so I’m trying to stay awake until its a sensible bed time. I’m sharing a house with one English girl, a French couple and two German girls, also, I’m told, some bed bugs. I’ve spent the evening chatting with some of the older Akany girls. Everyone seems to be quite excited about the sanitation project at Habitat 1. I’ll be spending the first week working alongside the volunteers who have been here a while learning how to do all the various jobs. Right now though, I’m giving up on staying awake and am going to bed. I guess that’s the best way to find out about the bed bugs!
Almost out of date South African weet-bix with powdered milk and colemans apple sauce (also out of date) is not a bad breakfast! The supermarket prices are high so I was shopping in the bargain bin yesterday. Up at 6.45 this morning to feed the babies. Feeling much better after a good nights sleep!
